Kid Stuff Trying to find a way to spend time with your kids outdoors? Try planting a theme garden. One of my personal favorites is a pizza garden. Create a circle 3 feet in diameter using a dowel with an 18 inch long piece of string attached. Pick a sunny location. Place the dowel in the center of your area and walk in a circle, keeping the sting tight, marking the ground as you go. Divide the circle into 5 or 6 "slices". Plant a tomato, a pepper, onions, and pizza herbs, such as basil and oregano in each "slice". Water and weed regularly. Soon you will have the home-grown ingredients for your own pizza! There are many other types of theme gardens you can plant - salsa garden, herbal tea garden, butterfly garden, or hummingbird garden. Your only limitation is your imagination.
